Grapes Mug Rug, and More Mugs

Mug rug is 8" x 10".   A dozen mug rugs are done.

I stopped at the Goodwill a couple of days ago and found some cute mugs priced anywhere from 50¢ to $1.50.  Had to get them... they are just the thing for matching rugs.  My main criterion is that they look brand-spankin' new.  And now I have a dozen more mug rugs to do.  The candles came from the Goodwill, too.

Teddy Bears Mug Rug

Mug rug measures 8" x 10".  This one will go to Norma, from Victoria, since the mug says "Love You, Grandma".

Bluebird Toile de Jouy Mug Rug

In making this mug rug, I cut the first piece from the bird fabric Larry got me a couple of years ago.  I embroidered it in 'thread art' fashion -- Toile de Jouy.

Cats Mug Rug

The kitten in the framed picture is Tad, a much-beloved cat of ours from years gone by.  The mug rug measures 8" x 10".

Teacher Mug Rug

This mug rug will be for my sister Lura Kay Walker, who is the principal and Bible Truths teacher at our church school.  It will be Victoria's gift to her.

Clothesline Mug Rug

Another mug rug is done, this one made to match a 'clothesline mug'.  This will be for a dear older friend who used to live at our house when I was a very little girl.  I loved helping her hang clothes on the line in the back yard; she'd let me hold the clothespin bag and hand her the pins.  I worked hard to have a pin waiting before she needed it.
