Brook Trout Mug Rug

Here is the third fish mug rug -- an appliquéd Brook Trout.  This will be the last mug rug, unless I finish all the Christmas things I need to do before Christmas.

Greenback Cutthroat Trout Mug Rug

This is the first of three fish mug rugs I plan to make for three of our grandsons.  It's supposed to be colored like a Greenback Cutthroat Trout, but seems to me it turned into more of a Clown Trout.  The mugs are Norman Rockwell designs.

The picture card on the fishing frog is a shot of Larry hauling in a big fish.

Larry laughed at the mug rug.  Good thing it's for one of the grandsons, rather than Gadabout Gaddis, I guess!

Bald Eagle Placemat

This Bald Eagle placemat and mug is for my brother-in-law  John H. for Christmas.  I have ordered a figurine and big picture book of bald eagles to go with it.

Here are the figurines I ordered from Amazon (one will be for my brother, Loren):

And this is the book:

Dairy Cow Placemat

Tonight I finished a placemat (below); it will be for Jacob for Christmas.  I just ordered a bowl to go with it --

and some Hershey's lip balm --

and I will add some Hershey's Hot Chocolate to the set, too:

For the final pieces to the set, I have ordered the Schleich bull, cow, and calf:

Schleich toy figurines are made of a soft vinyl plastic, and hand-painted.

Here is the placemat:

It measures 10 1/2" x 14".

World Map Placemats

These World Map placemats are for two of my little grandsons who like maps, Nathanael and Levi, ages 7 and 3.  I will give them other items to make a set, such as a jigsaw puzzle of our town, taken from the U.S. Geological Survey, with their very own house right smack-dab in the middle.  I'm going to hunt for nice compasses for them, too, and perhaps the VTech Fly & Learn Globe for Levi.  I'll put fruit snacks in the glass cups, too.  Wonder what shapes there are to choose from?

It's always fun to try out new stitches on my Bernina Artista 180.
