Cathedral Windows Pillow Complete

This afternoon I went to our local quilt shop -- the only one in town, at the moment, because the other one had to move out of the lovely building they were renting, as the owner sold it.  And of course, the fabric I needed for the back of the pillow . . . . . is in a moving van somewhere, waiting to be unloaded at a new location, if or when ('when', I hope) a new location is found.

I got some fabric that, while not perfect, didn't clash, at least.  I found some trim at Wal-Mart, came home, and finished putting the pillow all together. 

Also pictured is the fabric I purchased at the quilt shop for a project I will soon start for a customer -- she wants an appliqué 'photo' of her little Sheltie dog.

Cathedral Windows Pillow Top Done (almost)

The pillow top is now done, except for little covered buttons I will put at the corner of each Cathedral Window, and cording I will put inside the blue border.  The piping is ready to be sewn onto the border.  I think I will buy more of that blue fabric for the back -- I used up every scrap making the border and piping.

I got the pillow form at the Goodwill tonight.  It cost $1.44, counting tax.

I got a little more done on the Cathedral Windows today; the pillow top is about one-third complete.

Cathedral Windows

This is the beginning of a Cathedral Windows pillow I am making for my mother-in-law, Norma, whose 75^th birthday is March 9. 

Looks sort of funny, at this point... but I like to watch Cathedral Windows go together.  And there are so many different ways to make them!

Brook Trout Mug Rug

Here is the third fish mug rug -- an appliquéd Brook Trout.  This will be the last mug rug, unless I finish all the Christmas things I need to do before Christmas.

Second of three fish mug rugs -- the Rainbow Trout mug rug, made to go with another Normal Rockwell mug.

Greenback Cutthroat Trout Mug Rug

This is the first of three fish mug rugs I plan to make for three of our grandsons.  It's supposed to be colored like a Greenback Cutthroat Trout, but seems to me it turned into more of a Clown Trout.  The mugs are Norman Rockwell designs.

The picture card on the fishing frog is a shot of Larry hauling in a big fish.

Larry laughed at the mug rug.  Good thing it's for one of the grandsons, rather than Gadabout Gaddis, I guess!
