Emma's Drawstring Bag

Emma's ninth birthday is tomorrow, so I decided to make her a drawstring bag, and give my new ribbon embroidery supplies a try while I was at it.  I filled the bag with hairbrush and comb, mini pink LED elbowed desk lamp, flowered hair clips, a hardcover spiral journal with a photo of kittens on the front, and a small burgundy leather purse with chain-and-leather strap and several pockets.
Here are my supplies -- and the end result:

Pocketed Elephant Wall-Hanging from Thailand

This is a pocketed wall hanging from Thailand, and was given to Janice, my late sister-in-law, by a Thai friend who visited her native land.  My brother gave it to me when we were cleaning Janice's sewing room.

Marching Teddy Mug Rug

This mug rug is for Josiah for his birthday; he just turned four.  He didn't get a mug rug at Christmas time, because I ran out (though I gave him other things in its place).  So I borrowed back the mug I gave him, and made a rug to match it.

The rug measures 8" x 9½".  The blue edge is a flange.

Sheltie Dog Wallhanging

Tonight I finished a Sheltie dog 'fabric photo' wallhanging I've been making for a friend and customer, Kat Scribner, patterned after her much-loved Sheltie, Kody.  It measures 19" x 20".  I have 80 ½ hours in it.

This is the picture Kat sent me:

Cathedral Windows Pillow Complete

This afternoon I went to our local quilt shop -- the only one in town, at the moment, because the other one had to move out of the lovely building they were renting, as the owner sold it.  And of course, the fabric I needed for the back of the pillow . . . . . is in a moving van somewhere, waiting to be unloaded at a new location, if or when ('when', I hope) a new location is found.

I got some fabric that, while not perfect, didn't clash, at least.  I found some trim at Wal-Mart, came home, and finished putting the pillow all together.

Also pictured is the fabric I purchased at the quilt shop for a project I will soon start for a customer -- she wants an appliqué 'photo' of her little Sheltie dog.
