World Map Placemats

These World Map placemats are for two of my little grandsons who like maps, Nathanael and Levi, ages 7 and 3.  I will give them other items to make a set, such as a jigsaw puzzle of our town, taken from the U.S. Geological Survey, with their very own house right smack-dab in the middle.  I'm going to hunt for nice compasses for them, too, and perhaps the VTech Fly & Learn Globe for Levi.  I'll put fruit snacks in the glass cups, too.  Wonder what shapes there are to choose from?

It's always fun to try out new stitches on my Bernina Artista 180.

Rooster Mug Rug

After starting out a bit small, this mug rug grew until I think now I should call it a 'placemat' instead of a 'mug rug'.  Maybe it's a 'saucer and mug rug'.  :-D

Fabric, & Dresden Quarters Mug Rug

Today I spent my gift certificate from Jeremy, Lydia, and Jacob at Claus 'en Paus Quilt Shoppe.  After getting home, I finished a Dresden Quarters mug rug.  It will be for my sister.

Hearts & Half-Stars Mug Rug

In the quilting of this mug rug, I tried out a couple of stitches on my machine, the Bernina Artista 180, that I had never used before -- hearts, and half-stars.  Of course I had to use them, somehow.  The fourth photo shows a close-up of the stitches.

This will be for my daughter-in-law, Maria.

Casserole Dish Cover & Potholders

This Dutch oven and casserole dish cover, along with the hotpads and fingertip potholders, are for my great-nephew Jason and his bride-to-be, Kristen.
